DJIA 24,400 Melt-Up Target Hit

By November 30, 2017November 25th, 2018No Comments

I first brought this chart (below) to the attention of subscribers back in November 2016.  At the time, it seemed a little crazy, but markets tend to do odd things every 7-10 years and I thought it was worth mentioning.  And as my short-term data continued to look worse and worse–as if some big surprise was imminent–the melt up continued to intensify.  The tricky part of this melt up was in its hesitation to post back-to-back multi hundred point Dow advances.  That dynamic fooled a lot of people (me included) and gave the appearance of a market that was ready to TOP any moment.  Granted, the advance decline line remained strong during most of the advance, but components specific to my proprietary model were flashing sell signals and a record-breaking price extension in my 5 minute model count was telling me that I should prepare for a decline even more dynamic in nature than the advance leg.

So as I write this post on the evening of November 30th, I’m humbled by today’s power, but more cautious than ever before about what I think we’ll see unfolding next week.  The details of next week’s forecast must be held back for subscribers, but if you simply take a look at the chart I posted below, you will probably guess it involves extreme caution.

Today’s intraday high was 24, 327.82–close enough to my original target.   If you’d like to learn more about what the Behavioral Analysis Model is predicting for next week, please join us as a subscriber to our S&P 500 Service
